MedGyn Celebrates 50th Anniversary!

MedGyn Celebrates 50 Years of Excellence and Innovation

About MedGyn

Founded in 1975, MedGyn has evolved from a small business into a global leader in the medical device manufacturing sector, with a presence in 145 countries. MedGyn’s mission has always been to develop trusted products for women’s healthcare, consistently meeting and exceeding physicians’ expectations. As a minority-owned and woman-led organization, MedGyn is dedicated to advancing women’s health on a global scale.

For five decades, MedGyn has been a symbol of quality and innovation. The journey began with Founder & Chairman Lakshman Agadi and the launch of MedGyn’s first product, Laminaria. This initial success paved the way for the development of numerous other products for OB/GYN providers. Over the years, MedGyn has achieved significant milestones, including prestigious awards such as the Malcolm Baldridge Award, IMEC Bronze Award for Excellence, Chicago’s Best & Brightest, and the State of Illinois Governor’s Export Award. These accolades reflect the dedication and hard work of the Founder, leadership team, and the collaborative partnerships with Obstetricians and Gynecologists globally.

With the guidance of its Founder, MedGyn has transitioned into a second-generation family business.  “We are very grateful to be able to make an impact on women’s health, and continue MedGyn’s legacy of helping others, helping women in particular,” said Aarathi Singh, Chief Executive Officer of MedGyn. “Trust is essential in healthcare. Our products have earned the trust of providers, enabling us to expand our global presence for 50 years,” she explained. MedGyn’s leadership team also includes Chief Medical Officer & President, Amar Agadi. “In terms of Research & Development, we’re continuously focused on adding to our product line. Our focus is on developing products that are patient-centric and quality-driven for the provider in any clinical environment,” he added.

Future-Focused Vision & Growth

As MedGyn celebrates this golden anniversary, it looks forward to continuing its legacy of excellence through ongoing research and development and expanding its product portfolio. Focusing on six key areas—General Gynecology, Family Planning, Infertility, Obstetrics, Gynecology Oncology, and Urogynecology—MedGyn drives innovation by collaborating with OB/GYN partners to support women throughout their lifecycle. The exploration of new technologies in healthcare will remain a cornerstone of their vision for the future.
